The Guest House, meanwhile, have been having a run on brews from Allgates, including the excellent Casablanca beer.
When, oh when though will be beloved Young Pretender return with its [...]
Cains wins something
April 13, 2009Cains lager has won a Red Tractor award. No idea what this is or whether it’s any good. They are doing their usual trick of trying to scoop up plaudits for free publicity as if nothing has happened.
Cains ‘doing well’ so now they plan to feck it up
March 29, 2009Cains brewery of Liverpool report that they’re getting over their tax problems and are trading well following their expansion disaster and subsequent shafting of their pub licensees last September.

Cains in more trouble

In news that will gladden the heart of any true Lancastrian beer fan, Ray tells me he’s “got rid of all that Cains stuff and brought back proper beers like Fosters, Carling, Stella and [...]
Dusanjs poised for a comeback? – Updated
August 22, 2008In a slippery switcheroo that can only happen in the world of business, there are rumours that the Dusanj brothers could emerge from the collapse of Cains with the brewery, the very profitable canning operation and 10 pubs.
While this is obviously great news if it means the beers will survive, it strips another layer of [...]
Thatch gone
August 22, 2008No, not Margaret, but the Thatch pub in Blowick – another victim of the big Cains close down.
Few in Southport are mourning the pub’s loss, as the professional Sandgrounders round there took delight in dissing the pub and its beer because of the Scouse heritage.
The pub has reverted back to ownership of Punch Taverns. A [...]
