Blue Bell ain’t so swell

The Blue Bell in Barton was always an eccentrics pub and has a long history of unsuitable barmaids, but it really looks on its last legs now.
And did I pay £1.70 for a half of Pride of Pendle? I can’t be sure but I think so.

I suppose it is a sign of the way our society is going that so many pubs are closing down.
Once upon a time people met friends in pubs and made new ones, now they prefer to sit at home in front of the telly, drinking themselves to a stupor as their wits desert them.
