Pontins to become Boozetown
Plans have been unveiled to spend £100m on turning the holiday camp at Ainsdale into a vast village of pubs, restaurants, honkey tonks and spas. Perhaps my long lamented Lido tiki bar will return.
While we will miss the nature reserves and relative peace and calm of the lonely, uncrowded dunes and lakes of the current set-up, who could argue against the creation of a seafront boozetown?
Updated: Leaflets about the plans, which will create hundreds of jobs, are available in nearby centres now. There will be a public meeting in Ainsdale on November 5.

Got a leaflet in the post. Wife is against it but I think it will be fine. Jobs and booze. What could go wrong? (-:

So they can build another grim shanty town like one around Vue Cinema/JJB Gym?
