Curse of the Bay Horse returns
The Bay Horse in Formby, one of the most shockingly vandalised pubs in the history of local boozers, has been fined over £13,000 for being caked in grease and dirt.
Good. No one who cares one jot about pubs should ever set foot in the Toby monstrosity that was once one of the finest melting-pot bars of them all.
There is a curse on the place, one woman has already choked to death and parent company Mitchell and Butlers nearly went to the wall recently.
Remember, caked in grease and dirt. Remember, cursed.

I remember (as a child!) the tenants being locked in upstairs while the brewery did a stock investigation, and subsequently leaving shortly afterwards! ( no names as they were friends of my parents..) Also remember Glenn & Jackie, tenants in later years, Glenn moving onto the soon to reopen Ship and jackie going to Croston (name of pub escapes me).
I couldn’t name anyone after them, the pub turned into another faceless nothing filled with robotic staff working to a script with no ability to actually serve a customer on a personal level.

We are not robotic staff working to a script with no ability to serve customers on a personal level thankyou! Many of us staff have been there for many a year & were trained under Jackie & Glenn! The volume of customers that come through our doors would not come & not return time & time again as they do if we were robots & the place was as rubish as you suggest! I think that by your comments you are probably one of those who hates change & made such a fuss when we changed over all those years ago! Well just give a thought to us for a change & perhaps we dont want to serve people like you!!

Just wanted to say how pathetic you all are!!! How sad a life do you leave putting stuff like this on!!!
I have been going there for years and yes i heard about the death of the women who choked how can the pub be held responsible for that!!!
Grow up sados
