Will update here as news comes in about the Cains situation. The feeling is that an announcement will be made today.

UPDATE: Unite the Union has called on the Bank of Scotland to save Cains Brewery and its 1,000 workforce.

Union spokesman Franny Joyce said: “Banks have a moral obligation to support companies, at the same time the banking industry is asking the government to provide its support during the present credit crisis.”
