Tandleman wasn’t that impressed on a recent visit, but Liverpool’s little Ship and Mitre pub continues to pull in ale lovers.
A sign above the bar on Thursday read, “last week we sold 2,316 pints of real ale” — and I wasn’t even near the place. A three-day German bottled beer festival saw 2,500 bottles sold and the barmaids dress up in “wench” costumes.

Although I would love to witness this lovely scene in person, I somehow feel this type of ‘service’ would be abused in England. Pity really.
