As a resident of the UK, I find it interesting that raising the tax on alcopops by 70% was supposed to stop young girls drinking them. In my opinion (and from what I see out and about in the UK), attempting to tax something with an aim to price people out of buying it just makes people switch to a cheaper product. Tax alcopops, the children will switch to cheap cider. It&#039;s a difficult to win situation, but I firmly believe that educating parents and children alike about drinking in moderation will result in less teenage drunkenness. 
I bet the extra money the government is making from this extra tax isn&#039;t going into alcohol education, or rehabilitation, or building more social areas for teenagers to go an meet.</description>
