The Baron’s Bar four-week beer festival starts tomorrow, May 1, at 6am with beer, bacon butties and folk dancing round the town’s ‘maypole’.
There’s live music from 9pm with vocalist Paula Delaney, but the reason to be there is quality ales such as Caingorm’s Tradewinds (national beer comp winner 2008 ) and Howard Town’s Wren’s Nest.
They’ve also produced a handy tickers’ guide for scoopers.
Will the Southport Drinker get up in time? Depends on tonight’s Champions League result.
Well, on tonight’s showing I can’t get over excited. Sitting here with a hazy pint of Brewers Revenge that is over sweet with no hop bite does not inspire confidence. My mate chose the Carousel which, as usual, is excellent. One effect of quite a few of us staying away is a price drop. A satisfactory result for the grumpy old men.
