Is cake lady still drinking?
The Horse & Jockey in Melling is on the brink of ruin because of a stigma over sewage.
According to today’s Daily Post, drinkers have deserted the pub despite £100,000 being spent on clean-up costs and a refit.
When I used to drink in there, there was an eccentric lady who used to come in and gorge herself on cream cakes from a local bakery. I wonder if she still goes there? Anyone throw any light on the situation?

I remember the cake lady but haven’t been in the Jockey for a long time, would be surprised if she was still around there as she was quite elderly I seem to remember. I hope that they can sort the sewage stigma out as it used to be a decent local pub
