The Baron’s is the latest Southport pub to bar greedy Chancellor Alistair Darling from the premises.

All this talk about a Labour backbench rebellion over the abolition of the 10p tax rate masks the real outrage gripping the country, which is the increase in the prices of pints, an even worse stealth tax on the poor.
