Village brews
Following a tip off, I travelled up to the Yorkshire Dales to visit the Cover Bridge Inn but got lost and ended up in the back of beyond.
After giving up the search, I found myself in a village called Kettlewell, a quaint little place with three quality boozers supporting three quality breweries.
The King’s Head is a Black Sheep pub, the Blue Bell Inn has the full range of Copper Dragon, while The Racehorses Inn serves Timothy Taylor.
What a choice! In the end I had something to eat at the Racehorses. The pub is very comfortable and friendly, the food was okay. I enjoyed a pint of Landlord and Best Bitter before heading back.
On reflection, I think the Blue Bell would have been the better bet, but when I went in they were playing techno music at pulse-quickening volume and that put me off after such a long drive.
Others recommend the Blue Bell. You can read a good report of the pub here. I especially like the pic of mushrooms growing out of dung.

Nice blog. Keep up the good work, and good to see you stray outside Merseyside once in a while!
